Awkwafina Awkwafina, an American performer and actress, started with humorous rap tracks which dealt with the subject of sexuality and race. The career of the singer and actress grew to Hollywood following the release of several rap songs. The actress was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens her first encounter with the world of music was in the form of the trumpet. Her classical, jazz and hip-hop training began as she was a teenager. After concentrating on education, she graduated with a degree in journalism in college and a women's studies degree. When she graduated, she started to pursue music as her main focus. After becoming famous through the Internet the track My Vag was a reaction to the song of Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually made its way onto the debut album Yellow Ranger. The album featured other popular hits, including the body positive Queef as well as the cheeky hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The final track was closely linked to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide released in the year 2015. Her resume contained both an musicians and an author. The singer was seeking for a new career path in acting. In addition to early shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she was also featured in movies such as Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. She had a breakthrough role in 2018 with a few high profile films, including Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP debuted in June.
