Audra's versatility and breadth in her career as an artist is second to none. She has won six Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards, as well as an Emmy Award. Record-breaking six times winner of her Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards in addition to one Emmy Award she received in the year 2015 by Barack Obama. McDonald was later cast as a co-star alongside Kathy Bates and Victor Garber in the highly acclaimed 1999 Disney/ABC television remake of Annie and in 2000 she was a frequent guest in NBC's smash series Law & Order Special Victims Unit. McDonald's debut Emmy was for the HBO movie adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Wit. Directed by Mike Nichols with Emma Thompson as the lead the actress returned to network TV in 2003. She starred in Mister Sterling and produced by Emmy Award winner Lawrence O'Donnell Jr. The Bedford Diaries, a WB TV show, debuted in the year 2006. She then had an recurring role on NBC's Kidnapped during the following year. McDonald's performance in the HBO movie Lady Day At Emerson Bar and Grill earned her four times an Emmy nomination in 2016. The Bite was a six episode drama about pandemics produced through Spectrum Originals in collaboration with CBS Studios. McDonald has a brief appearance in the CBS show The Good Wife as a legal actress The Good Wife as U.S. attorneys Liz Lawrence and Liz Reddick from 2009 to 2018 reprised the role (now named Liz Reddick) in The Good Fight in the role of the Paramount+ season regular. McDonald was nominated in Three Critics Choice Award awards. The actress is currently acting as a guest in Julian Fellowes' historical drama The Gilded Age, which airs on HBO.
